DreamUP AI by Deviantart.com – Artists love AI Art now?

Does the DreamUP AI by Deviantart.com reinvent how AI works for artists? It promises to train it’s model only on works from artists who have consented. And AI Users are required to name Artists, Models, Objects and Characters used in their AI work. DeviantArt also puts a AiArt Tag on every AI image so it can be filtered from the rest of the works. Is this a compromise for the community or the future of Image AI?

  1. Lol, everybody freaked out when it was announced. They had to back-pedal with the original announcement because they made it so we had to opt-out of having our existing art used to train their model. Many pro artists I know deleted all their works and left. DeviantArt was trending topic on twitter (while twitter was having its own meltdown) for two days with people complaining about all this.

  2. I published a Piece on Night Cafe. Then got a Message somebody Evolved my Piece .I checked it out and the guy Published it w/o even giving me credit. I may dl another artist work ,but I'll never evolve another artist work and try to take credit.

  3. Eh no, the vocal people on DA hate it even tho the AI is NOT trained on DA art.Loads of people have left the site and the drama is pretty huge.

As an oldtimer DA member and a digital artist … I'm fine with this. Artist are just going to have to get used to it that's exactly why I'm not yelling at clouds like an old man like the vocal complainers. Instead I'm trying to educate to get good results, it kinda sucks because code bro's have a high advantage getting real results vs a code illiterate like me scouring the discord for the good models and tips.

  4. I use one of the free online AI generators and a mac OS program called Photozoom pro to upscale them by as much as 600% off line .
I use free Krita’s denoiser to clean up any upscaling artifacts.

I started uploading My AI art to Deviant Art and gained over 80 followers in about a week.

Paying for AI art generation is DUMB!!

  5. I've tried, but the results in Stable Diffusion with custom models are way better. I'm avoiding using artist names on my prompts, since I want to find the most pure AI style of art posible, especially algorithmic art, this is something human artists can't do. AI art is far superior when it comes to drawing perfect shapes.

  6. Also, the referencing the prompt, artist, location and anything else related to the prompt for an *AI upload to Deviant Art is totally and utterly obscured. Proving that you created a prompt isn't even possible, its just ridiculous. You wrote a few words, that's it. Don't want people using your prompts, don't broadcast everything like a narcissist.

  7. @olivioSarikas Thanks for another awesome video. Do you know if big art platforms, ArtStation , Deviantart allow just to upload your own AI art created in MidJourney? Or Stable diffusion or any other model?
Also do you know about Shutterstock and other stock photos, if the Ai images are allowed there?

  8. Deviantart was bought by Wix a few years back. There is a whole "new" Deviantart department at wix offices in addition to the original Deviantart offices in the US. I wonder who is behind this dreamup AI, wix management or the original Deviantart management πŸ€”

  9. This is the future. Artists are going to get used to the concept of modeling, then they'll start creating their own models, then they'll start creating things we've never imagined. This will spawn the next generation of fine artists.
