Hey bud thanks for the tutorial. You should have hidden that API key, I recommend deleting that one and creating a new one so no one can use your account.
my ai plug in is not working. not creating any ai generated images. api key is applied. account created on related site.

This is so lame. The output doesn't at all relate to what you put in the viewport. Literally completely different. You are not an artist if this is all you do.

Not worried about it to be honest. Just like with 2D art, it will never be able to accomplish what an actual artist can. Even as the programs advance, they will always be limited compared to an actual human being. Not to mention, as these programs currently exist, you can't legally use most of the assets they create in the first place (I know that won't stop people from trying, but as more litigation rolls out, we'll see). This will be fun to play around with on the side, sure, but it's use in professional and commercial applications will be very limited for all the same reasons 2D AI generated art can't be used.

As a VFX Artist this really scares me. Sure, I bet it's a fun tool to play around with but I don't want to be replaced by code. This whole AI thing is becoming a problem for a lot of people in a wide variety of jobs and quite frankly it's concerning.
I'd like to see 3d models with uv and shaders..
If you want to dig deeper into AI, run stable diffusion locally or try colab version. This add-on may be free, but the image generation is NOT after you deplete the credits. Which you will in an hour. This solution is probably the most expensive one and tries to prey on Blender users. Thanks for the video, but the content is nonsense.

It's insane that they can have presets with artist's names on them. Were these artists paid?
Does it work for animations?
The capabilities are fascinating, but I'm really surprised how artists like you are excited about giving up so much control and render yourself out of the picture.
If it keeps going down this route, in the near future CEO's and Producers will be happy to maybe hire maybe one or two people tops, instead of big Teams, to do all the art for their product or campaign. They don't care about good, only about good enough to make money.
Also if people only focus on the prompts, someone else got good results on, then everything in the future will look even more the same, will it not?

Quick concept art is kinda helpful, but until it starts to do the heaving lifting of 3D modelling or CAD, I won't find it useful for me.
But it's possible to envision a time where you watch a new animated movie and at the end you tell your computer to roughly design a new character based on existing images and the art style of the movie; and then it goes ahead and gets you very close to the end result quite quickly.
It would be intersting to see how that evolves content creation. Everyone could be making their own animated shorts really quickly.

120 years ago painters were petrified of photography, 30 years ago illustrators were petrified of the computer because they thought it was going to make them obsolete. Actually it did kind of make typesetters obsolete. But every tool needs someone who can use it really well, and AI is just another tool.

This is all very impressive tech! But what it ultimately will result in is an inflation in imagery. Images are already more than abundant in our culture, but will someone in a future be interested in looking at images when it's no longer a form of communication between an artist and a viewer but rather a mind less machinery able to produce an infinite ammount of images in an instant? Sure this will lead to a democratization of visual media since every body will be able to create fantastic images but it will also follow the same pattern of plastic after the 60's. It changed peoples perception of stuff from being something precious to being more of a problem and eventually something you want to get rid of.

idk how i feel about this… its cool but kinda takes the fun out of coming up with ideas and making them from scratch. i feel like this would hurt the market for render artist idk. it just dont rub me in the right way.
