◆ DESCRIPTION ◆
Having been skeptical of AI art generators for awhile, I figured now was a better time than any to start learning how they work. I’ve looked at Midjourney, Dall-E and now Stable Diffusion. In this video I air my frustrations and concerns about the new technology while showcasing how to get Stable Diffusion up and running. I then do a walkthrough of my process and After Effects pipeline to get to the short animation at the start of the video.

  1. This is a great video. I have been watching bee and puppycat, and now I want to write/illustrate a kids book. I'm getting close concept ideas from stable diffusion of what I have in my head, then refining them.

  2. Ai generator is more like an Idea generator to me. It's just so much faster to do things manually and I have way more control. Need a spaceship? I just generate 5 images, find the shape that I like then draw it in the perspective that I want. AI can't do that fast enough.

Sure, it will eventually reach that level but that's far in the future. I'm probably already dead. Not to mention there will be law regarding AI usage soon at least for commercial use and the mountains of copyright issues. And I do believe it wouldn't get to the level that it will replace artist entirely. Unless we successfully created a sentient AI.

  3. Excellent video and great presentation. I was also hesitant about what AI meant to artists… A week ago I saw a video about Stable Diffusion, that it is similar to Dalle-2 and it's free, so I started playing with it and have been nailed on my computer ever since. And when it comes to what it means to artistis. My view is that it's a huge timesaver, something that allows you to produce more. It's not a free lunch – You still need to do PLENTY of stuff to make your exact vision come alive, so if anything, it's an enhancer

  4. There's so much humanity to your video, so much humility. I learned more from what you offered than in many of the other videos I've watched. Great combination of showing while also bringing into your own narrative. Thank you, this was great!

  5. Dude I’m actually where you arrived in this video, but have no formal training on it all. I’m more like a human AI as though YouTube videos were my prompter and trainer for my brain to evolve as a AI Artist. I use Blender mostly today and no longer use Photoshop. I also still use MSPaint 😊 for my pixel needs.

You my friend just opened up a portal in my mind though regarding the rotoscoping technique you used. I’m creating animations with Stable Diffusion as well and unique looking backgrounds. Never thought to Rotoscope it as you’ve done here, but I must admit yesterday the idea somehow crossed my mind. I just never learned how to do such a thing yet. Till I watched you do it here. I guess I will try it out on Blender. Fun stuff oh and dope video. AI is here to stay I agree!

  6. That's a cool workflow, and I can definitely see its uses! Not everything has to be as detailed or have as much heart as the photoshop animation you made. But I have to disagree where you said you think it looks better. I'd say the AI-based one is a 4/10, while the photoshop animation is an 8/10. The gulf in quality is huge, to me. There's so much more soul and creativity and attention to detail. AI can certainly help us block out forms quickly, but there's no replacement for human creativity and vision, at least not for the moment!

  7. Such a cool tutorial! Never thought of using the images in animation, but bro you are hemma talented and your art and animations are way better. The video you made here looked like animated pictures while the actual animations you've already made had so much more character and fluidity while the AI and aftereffect one was rather stiff

  8. I'm having an issue when I try to run the webui-user.bat command. It tells me that it failed to install torch and torchvision specifically:
"stderr: ERROR: Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement torch==1.12.1+cu113 (from versions: none)
ERROR: No matching distribution found for torch==1.12.1+cu113"
Can anybody please help with that?

  9. How can I update the pip? It says that i have 22.3 and there is new version of 22.3.1
It tells me to go to venvscriptspython.exe and use command "-m pip install –upgrade pip" but doesn't work always says "Syntax Error"
